Step into a sonic landscape where tradition meets innovation, where raw improvisation collides with deep electronic atmospheres. EMP (Electronic Music Performance) brings together three boundary-pushing artists—Elisa Harkins, Rotten Milk, and The New Honey Shade—for a night of transformative soundscapes, live experimentation, and immersive audiovisual
storytelling.
About the Artists
🎼Elisa Harkins (Cherokee, Muscogee) is an electronic composer, singer, and curator whose
work blends Indigenous music traditions with contemporary electronic production. With
performances at MoMA, The Getty, and REDCAT, Harkins' practice focuses on language
revitalization, body movement, and the evolution of Indigenous sound in modern contexts.
🔊Rotten Milk, a New Orleans-based experimentalist with deep Chicago roots, has long
disrupted conventional musical spaces with his improvisational approach to sound. Known for
his time in CAVE, Stress Ape, and Rotten Milk vs. Bubblegum Shitface, he crafts immersive,
meditative sonic environments that challenge the listener’s perception of ambient and noise
music.
🌿The New Honey Shade (Mark Daniel Kuykendall) is an Oklahoma-based artist and
producer whose work bridges field recordings, analog synthesis, and biosonification—translating
the energy of the natural world into ethereal compositions. As founder of Unknown Tone
Records, he has shaped the global experimental music scene, blurring the boundaries between
sound, memory, and visual art.
Prepare for a night of meditative drones, layered sonic textures, and deep experimental
journeys as these three artists push the limits of electronic music in an intimate, immersive
setting.
